尼爾：那是什麽？
你進入你的人生，意圖以特殊的方式，爲了特殊理由去體驗你自己(Self 本我)。在你進入此生之前，你是一個意識和一個覺性 (You are a Consciousness and an Awareness before you come into this life.)。那就是說，在你出生之前，你存在爲一個「存有體」，一個「生命體」(you exist as an entity, as a Being)。
在你决定「你想利用你的人生，以及你想要了解及體驗什麽」之後，你選擇最精確而完美的人們、地點和事物情境以完成那目的。
尼爾：你的意思是，我們挑選了我們自己的父母？
是的，而且你們的父母也挑選了你們。這是在一個非常高的(超覺意識)層面上的一個共同决定。事實上，對所有來此相聚的人來說，都真的是這樣。
沒有任何人遇見另一個人是出自意外的。
尼爾：那爲什麽有人願意挑選會虐待他們的父母呢？
每個靈魂都選擇正確而完美的人們、地點和事件，來創造「為了完成靈魂議程」的機會，那在每一個例子裡都不一樣，因而無法以總括的說法來加以評論。
也許，某個靈魂正在尋求體驗它自己爲所謂「寬恕」的神聖素質。也許在人生的後段裡，它在尋求獲得幫助其他受虐待者的慈悲心。

There is no such thing as "bland normalcy." There are only people who settle for that.
Everyone is special, everyone is extraordinary, everyone is talented and skilled and has abilities unique to their purpose for coming here.
Neale: Which is?
You come into your life intending to experience your Self in particular ways, for par- ticular reasons. You are a Consciousness and an Awareness before you come into this life. That is, you exist as an entity, as a Being, prior to your birth.
After deciding how it is that you would like to use your life, and what you wish to understand and experience, you pick the exact and perfect people, places, and things with which to accomplish that.
Neale: You mean we pick our own parents?
Yes. And your parents pick you. This is, at a very high level, a joint decision. In fact, it's true of the coming together of all people.
No one meets anyone by accident.
Neale: Why would I have picked parents who abuse me?
Each soul picks the right and perfect people, places, and events with which to create the opportunity to fulfill the soul's agenda, which is different in every case, and, so, cannot be commented on in general terms.
Perhaps a soul is seeking to experience itself as that quality of divinity known as forgiveness. Or perhaps it is seeking to acquire the compassion to help other people who have been abused, later in life.
There are countless reasons why the soul might call a particular circumstance or person to itself.
Neale: Then there's no such thing as a "chance encounter"?
There is not. Do you imagine that a universe that designs something as intricate and unduplicated as a snowflake produces something as random as a "chance" encounter?
